digital technology and advanced technical capabilities and rugged design for everyday use.

Optics and Resolution

With 5.5-megapixel Full Frame Transfer CCD (FT-CCD), Olympus E1

With a traditional 35mm lens, light hits the periphery of the image area at oblique angles

Digital Slr offers a wide range of detail and color (with images up to 2560 x 1920 pixels) as TIFF and RAW formats. FT-CCD sensor is a progressive scan, which can capture more images with conventional interline CCDs in comparison. Olympus says these sensors with a sensitivity of better color, wider dynamic range from black to white, and a higher signal to noise ratio than most other cameras in its class have.

Olympus-E1-Digital-Slr uses a Four Thirds standard lens that address some image problems was developed, manufacturers have found through the development of digital SLR cameras with 35 mm lens traditional system – in particular a digital image sensor from the right angle of light. This body and Four Thirds mount is only compatible with the Four Thirds Lenses Olympus and other manufacturers. The camera will also find a place, center-weighted, and electro-selective Plan (ESP) Accounting, 7 selectable levels of sharpness, three-point autofocus with AF-assist lamp.

Supersonic Wave Filter

Supersonic wave filter protects imager from dust

Since the replacement of lenses on the fly is one of the fundamental elements of SLR photography, it’s dust. The problem is compounded physics CCD, tiny particles can easily block or erase the CCD wells, the performance of your cells deteriorate over time. To solve this problem, Olympus Supersonic Wave Filter, the ultra-discrete high-speed vibrations from impacts of particles produced in the thermal imager causes. The filter automatically at startup and during pixel mapping, and can be activated manually at any time.

Additional Features

  • Mixed AF / MF mode allows the photographer to fine-tune the focus manually or AF is carried out in S-AF mode
  • Focus mode to avoid shutter priority firing a perfect focus is achieved
  • 12 EF and lock mode and customizable rotation of the focusing ring
  • High Eye-point optical viewfinder provides a 100% accuracy of the frame (horizontally and vertically) for the development of precise and the images
  • Neo Lumi-Micron Matte II focusing screen distorted hexagonal prism, micro, aiming to reduce MOIREE; effect in the viewfinder for clear, sharp focus of the viewfinder.
  • Choice between sRGB color space (ideal for computer monitors, inkjet printers, scanners and Internet) and Adobe RGB (ideal for prepress and printing on printers CMYK).
  • White Balance: Auto, Preset and One-Touch Guide
  • Fixed and random sample of noise
  • Metal Magnesium alloy makes the camera easy, but very strong
  • Storage and handling

The images are stored on Compact Flash (Type I, II), Microdrive (16bit/32bit compatible format) – all sold separately. Files can either Mac or PC via USB 2.0, which automatically goes to low-capacity USB 2.0 formats, if not detected on the target computer downloaded. In addition, the camera is equipped with an IEEE 1394 (aka FireWire) port for high-speed image transfer.

    Power and Size

The camera is powered by a rechargeable Li-ion battery pack, included with a charger. The camera measures 5.55″ by 4.09″ by 3.19 inches and weighs 23 ounces without batteries and memory.
